MAK dentist surgery
Facility data:
facility: “Mak” dentist surgery
location: Czarnków (Wielkopolska district)
design date: 2008
usable area: 42m2 (30m2 for surgery room and 12m2 waiting room)
Investor's requirements:
- to modernize surgery in visual and functional way,
- to create space for comfortable functioning of two surgery units simultaneously,
- to design a waiting room with a reception office.
Solutions used:
The surgery:
It was not possible to arrange two rooms on such small surface. In order to separate units, the surgery was divided by a dull glass wall what provided comfort for patients at simultaneous feeling of large spaciousness. A desk with a computer was placed in a specially designed for it niche what varied the room and separated working place from surgery area.
The walls opposite units, which are especially visible for patients, were made more attractive with highlighted spatial objects what creates an effect of symmetrical and harmonious room. Furniture was changed a little for the needs of new arrangements. It was enriched by additional place for keeping things like patients files.
The waiting room:
This room had a shape that was not too friendly to patients: long with high ceiling what created an expression of smaller place than it actually is. The ceiling was lowered, spatial objects were made of gypsum-cardboard panels what made the room more attractive. The room was more lighted with warm light by series of ceiling lamps made on order. Much positive energy to the waiting room was added by specially designed orange colored reception office. Poppy flowers on wallpaper give an individual character to the waiting room and refer to the name of surgery*. (* Mak is a Polish word meaning poppy).
