The attic in Czarnkowo

Facility data:

facility: usable attic
location: Czarnków
design date: 2009 – in progress
usable area: 108m²

Investor's requirements:

Design of an interior of ruined usable attic and creation of a project of necessary constructive-materials modernizations. Adjusting of functional settlement of rooms for users needs.
Furniture designing.

Solutions used:

In order to level and strengthen floor, self-leveling flooring was put. Musty wooden construction pillars were strengthen by metal clamps and protected from further degradation.  Ceilings and walls were ripped almost to bare boards and next they were coated with gypsum-cardboard panels.  On walls of whole attic, we put wallpapers made of unwoven fabric protecting from slight crackings resulting from activity of wooden construction of the attic.  New system of lighting and electric system were designed.
Because of small surface of windows, whole space is kept in bright colors in combination of ash wood that is present in all rooms.  Every lamp has the same style.  It was supposed to create design of interior as a whole and not as few not having similar elements rooms.

Bathroom’s settlement was completely redesigned. Despite not large surface, there is a bathtub and shower as well.  What is characteristic in designed bathroom is a motif of cobbles of which pool of shower is profiled of and also placing cobbles in special highlighted channel put around the bathtub.

In the bedroom, brick wall is uncovered and highlighted by busways what emphasize loft character of this place.  At the end of the bedroom, there is a music place, separated by curtains referring to a motif of a musical stage.

The children room was designed and kept in such colors that it could be also used as a guest room - bright green combined with white creates bright room that does not have to be designed only for children.  Showy wardrobes were put in the space below roof scarfs. One of the interesting solutions is usage of sliding door at whole length of the corridor which close access to the attic and are a kind of “secret passage" that is hidden from guests sight.
