A laryngologists clinic
Facility data:
facility: construction design of a laryngologists clinic
location: Poznań
design date: 2008
usable area: 490m²
designer: Marcin Macieszko for the design office of Waldemar Szeszuła
Investor's requirements:
To design a private laryngologists clinic on the basis of provided design of a multi-family building. The building should look appropriately to its use. The clinic should include: a reception office, consulting rooms, rooms for patients and an operating room.
Solutions used:
There was not possibility of interference in building's form as the clinic had to have the same usable surface, shape and overall dimensions as in the design of a multi-family building that was approved few years earlier. The building's form could be more modern what would relate to its new character. The basic premise was to emphasize concepts of the original designer that the building is composed of two interpenetrated cubes. It was emphasized by the pattern and color of the facade.
In the interior, important functional changes were made and the original construction remained unchanged. Storeys visibly divide the building into two parts – the ground floor is for patients who come for survey and the second storey is for patients who come to be operated, observed and for other treatment. The ground floor includes the reception office and consulting rooms and the second floor is the place for the operating room and rooms for patients. Every floor has its own social facilities, which are also adapted for handicapped people.
