Eljan Restaurant
Facility data:
facility: A small restaurant-conference hall in the Eljan hotel.
location: Drezdenko, Lubuskie district
design date: 2006
surface: 180m²
Investor's requirements:
To redesign and modernize existing restaurant hall suitable to be used as a hall for conferences, banquets and receptions.
The bar should stay as it was. Chairs are also not to be changed.
Solutions used:
The hall has an intimate character and a small surface due to low ceiling and small surface of windows. All of this made that it looked like a hall in a cellar. During deciding, it was decided to emphasize its cellar atmosphere by uncovering brick pillars and construction of additional brick walls. Glass panels put on bricks, modern lighting and openwork grids used as suspended ceiling created interesting impression of an industrial cellar interior. The atmosphere is warmed by paintings referring to the style of the first hall and by the parquet made of exotic wood.
The bar remained unchanged but was moved to the central area of the hall what made it is featured. The interior makes impression of being cozy, despite of a lack of actual division of space that was not possible due to varied functionality. The division was obtained by sculpturing of the ceiling into sectors and by variation of walls' surfaces by brick elements.
